JB Matteson Acquires Prairie Home Apartments in Vancouver, WA

Class A, 120-unit apartment community strengthens Pacific Northwest portfolio

SAN MATEO, CA, UNITED STATES, September 5, 2025 – JB Matteson, Inc., a 60-year-old private real estate investment manager based in the San Francisco Bay Area, announced the acquisition of Prairie Home Apartments, a recently stabilized Class A apartment community in Vancouver, Washington. This acquisition marks JB Matteson’s second active investment in Vancouver and its fifth multifamily property within the Portland Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).

Completed in 2023, Prairie Home Apartments comprises 120 units featuring elevated interior finishes and a diverse mix of floor plans. Each residence includes full-size washers and dryers, air conditioning, and electric fireplaces, complemented by high-quality finishes such as quartz countertops and plank flooring. The property offers ample parking, including one covered carport per unit—a notable advantage over competing properties. Strategically located, Prairie Home Apartments attracts residents seeking a suburban Portland lifestyle with convenient access to local amenities.

“Prairie Home Apartments will be a strong addition to JB Matteson’s growing Pacific Northwest portfolio,” said Jamie Blake, Vice President of Investments. “Vancouver’s sustained population and job growth make it an attractive market for multifamily investments, and our experience with nearby properties gives us confidence in this location.”

Tom Fischer, Director of Capital Markets, added, “This acquisition aligns with JB Matteson’s strategy of acquiring high-quality multifamily assets in major Western U.S. markets, delivering long-term value to our investors.”

The transaction was brokered by Sean Worl of Colliers on behalf of the seller, while acquisition financing was arranged by Managing Directors Briana DeHaan and Dennis Williams with Northmarq through a life insurance company.

JB Matteson continues to expand its portfolio across the Western United States, leveraging decades of expertise in identifying and managing high-performing real estate assets. Prairie Home Apartments’ Class A amenities, combined with a strong local market, support the company’s commitment to delivering stable income and long-term appreciation for investors.
