HAMAMATSU, JAPAN | July 16, 2025 — Yamaha Corporation has officially released the highly anticipated “AI NurseRobot_TypeT” voicebank for VOCALOID6, expanding the musical horizons of creators worldwide through the blend of synthetic vocals, anime-inspired character design, and artificial intelligence. The new voicebank is now available for purchase and download via the official VOCALOID Shop, offering a fresh, ethereal vocal tone based on a whisper-voiced nurse-type android beloved in digital art and music circles.
The product, available from July 16, is priced at $90 for the standalone voicebank and $198 for the Starter Pack, which includes the VOCALOID6 engine and the AI NurseRobot_TypeT voicebank (note: the Starter Pack does not include the default voicebanks such as Haruka or Akito typically bundled with standard VOCALOID6).
Since its debut in 2003, Yamaha’s VOCALOID technology has revolutionized digital music production. VOCALOID6, released in 2022, introduced VOCALOID:AI, an advanced synthesis engine capable of generating expressive and natural vocals through deep learning. This allows composers and producers to simulate singing voices based on real human performances with remarkable nuance.
The newly introduced AI NurseRobot_TypeT voicebank further enhances VOCALOID6’s capabilities by offering a unique vocal character: a soft, whisper-like female voice modeled after a fictional android nurse. Designed by Japanese illustrator Matsuokayu (also known as SuteinuA), the character has already cultivated a strong fanbase in the world of synthetic voice and illustration. With this launch, her delicate tone can now be brought into songs, performances, and digital storytelling.
What makes this voicebank exceptional is its attention to expressive breath and vocal dynamics. With the upcoming update to VOCALOID Editor Ver6.7, the voicebank gains even more subtlety via an expanded “Air” parameter. This feature lets users finely tune the breathiness of the voice, essential for creating intimate, emotionally nuanced performances that simulate whispered singing—a favorite aesthetic in modern pop, indie, and ambient genres.
The character’s unique vocal qualities are showcased in the demo song “Goodbye Apoptosis” by composer 32ki, now available on YouTube.
The AI NurseRobot_TypeT voicebank is packed with features designed to empower artists, songwriters, and producers:
These enhancements open new creative opportunities across music genres and global markets, giving creators a characterful and technically advanced tool to build their soundscapes.
NurseRobot_TypeT hails from the “Kuranari Private Hospital” universe, an original project developed by Matsuokayu. The character, a nurse-type android with a calming presence and mysterious backstory, resonates with fans for her gentle, whispery voice and melancholic aesthetic. With the VOCALOID6 release, she also debuts a newly illustrated outfit created specifically for this voicebank.
Matsuokayu, known for their delicate, emotionally charged illustrations, continues to develop the Kuranari universe through various mediums, including Live2D art, digital music, and voice synthesis. Their work reflects a balance between warmth and shadow—a style that perfectly complements the NurseRobot’s voice.
