WAM is Annual Investment Meeting’s main media partner

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 25 April 2023: The Emirates News Agency (WAM) has signed a memorandum of understanding to become the main media partner for the Annual Investment Meeting 2023 to be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from May 8th to 10th. The event, which is anchored on the theme “The Investment Paradigm Shift: Future Investment Opportunities to Foster Sustainable Economic Growth, Diversity and Prosperity,” is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development.

The partnership establishes a collaborative effort between the two parties leading up to the event, with WAM providing regular coverage and updates on the conference. Additionally, a dedicated news studio has been allocated at the event site to provide live coverage in multiple languages over the course of three days.

According to WAM Deputy Director General Ali Al Saad, the collaboration with the Annual Investment Meeting is part of WAM’s dedication to communicating the UAE’s national economic accomplishments to the world via a dependable and meaningful media message. Such a message would reflect the emirates’ significant progress and cultural advancements, as well as its strong standing as a global economic hub that garners worldwide attention.

Al Saad added that this partnership will help put the spotlight on the UAE’s vision and plans in empowering its economic sectors and in exploring how the investment landscape is being shaped in line with the country’s direction in the next five decades.

Dawood Al Shezawi, President of the Annual Investment Meeting, said: “The Annual Investment Meeting aims to attract more foreign direct investments between countries worldwide by shedding light on the current investment landscape. It seeks to promote and support a more diverse, advanced, and sustainable global economy by utilizing digital technology and linking investment opportunities with sustainable development goals. Throughout its previous editions, it has successfully strengthened the position of the United Arab Emirates on the global investment map, contributing effectively to the country’s development journey for the next fifty years.”

He highlighted the organizing committee’s eagerness to establish multiple media partnerships, and warmly welcomed the partnership with the Emirates News Agency. This, he said, will have a significant impact on enhancing coordination and joint work to achieve the goals of the Annual Investment Meeting, given its status as an official news platform for the country. He added that this decision is driven by the vital role that various media outlets play in promoting events, exhibitions, and activities in the country, which directly reflects their success in achieving their goals, thus enhancing the UAE’s position.

The conference will have news studios allocated for several media partners along with a fully-equipped media center. This state-of-the-art technology will enable journalists and correspondents to cover the event, in line with the anticipated extensive media coverage from Arab, local, and international media outlets.
