NVIDIA and Synopsys Forge Strategic Partnership to Transform Engineering and Design

NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Synopsys, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNPS) today announced an expanded, multi-year strategic partnership aimed at revolutionizing engineering and design across industries. The collaboration combines NVIDIA’s AI and accelerated computing technologies with Synopsys’ market-leading engineering solutions, enabling faster, more precise, and cost-effective R&D workflows. As part of the partnership, NVIDIA has invested $2 billion in Synopsys common stock at $414.79 per share.

Accelerating Innovation Across Industries

Engineering teams from semiconductors to aerospace, automotive, and industrial sectors face growing complexity, rising costs, and time-to-market pressures. This partnership leverages NVIDIA’s GPU-accelerated computing and AI capabilities to enhance Synopsys’ tools for chip design, physical verification, molecular simulations, electromagnetic analysis, optical simulation, and more. By integrating these technologies, R&D teams can simulate entire systems—from atoms to transistors—faster and with greater accuracy, effectively creating fully functional digital twins inside computers.

Jensen Huang, NVIDIA Founder and CEO, explained, “CUDA GPU-accelerated computing is revolutionizing design. Our partnership with Synopsys harnesses this power to reimagine engineering, empowering engineers to invent extraordinary products that will shape the future.”

Sassine Ghazi, President and CEO of Synopsys, added, “Developing next-generation intelligent systems requires solutions that deeply integrate electronics, physics, and AI capabilities. Together, Synopsys and NVIDIA are uniquely positioned to deliver these AI-powered, holistic engineering tools, enabling innovators worldwide to bring their visions to life more efficiently.”

Key Initiatives

  • Broad Application Acceleration: NVIDIA CUDA-X libraries and AI-Physics technologies will optimize Synopsys’ compute-intensive applications, reducing simulation times while improving precision.
  • Agentic AI Engineering: Synopsys’ AgentEngineer™ technology integrates with this company’s Agentic AI stack to enable autonomous design workflows, enhancing simulation, verification, and analysis processes.
  • Digital Twins: Advanced virtual models connect physical and digital worlds, supporting industries such as robotics, aerospace, automotive, energy, healthcare, and more, leveraging NVIDIA Omniverse, Cosmos, and related technologies.
  • Cloud-Ready Solutions: The partnership ensures access to GPU-accelerated engineering tools for teams of all sizes via the cloud, democratizing high-performance computing for smaller and mid-sized organizations.
  • Joint Go-to-Market Efforts: The companies will collaborate to extend adoption, combining Synopsys’ global sales network with NVIDIA’s ecosystem to reach engineering teams across multiple industries.

This partnership is non-exclusive, complementing broader collaborations within the semiconductor and electronic design automation (EDA) ecosystems.
