AUSTIN, TEXAS: Lightspeed Systems, a global leader in K–12 digital safety and analytics, has named Dr. Donal McMahon as its new Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO). The strategic hire underscores Lightspeed’s commitment to embedding cutting-edge AI across its platforms to deliver smarter, safer, and more engaging learning experiences for students worldwide.

He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Stanford University, along with degrees in Actuarial Science and Statistics from University College Dublin.

“I’m thrilled to join Lightspeed and help build AI solutions that directly support educators and students,” said Dr. McMahon. “From identifying at-risk students to reducing administrative workloads, the potential for impact is enormous—and I look forward to shaping that future.”
