COMPUCHILD Partners with Local Innovators to Boost STEM Learning
COMPUCHILD, a leading provider of Entrepreneurial STEAM™ after-school programs, has completed the third annual NASA Space Apps Challenge event in Mountain House, California, supporting STEM enthusiasm among young learners.
The NASA Space Apps Challenge is a global innovation hackathon where students, coders, scientists, and technologists solve real-world space and Earth challenges using NASA’s open-source data. It encourages creative problem-solving, collaboration, and global scientific engagement.
The initiative in Mountain House began in 2023 when high school student Niveta Sree Gunda recognized the lack of local opportunities for young coders. She led efforts to bring the NASA-supported challenge to her community. COMPUCHILD backed the program as a Galactic Local Collaborator, providing sponsorship, outreach support, and judging expertise.

This year’s event saw continued momentum, attracting 76 participants and 16 team submissions.
COMPUCHILD President Shubhra Kant participated as a Galactic Local Judge. “Judging this event was not easy,” she said. “Each project had to be evaluated for impact, creativity, scientific validity, relevance, and clarity of presentation. The quality continues to be so strong that selecting winners is truly difficult.”
Kant emphasized the organization’s commitment to nurturing children’s potential through community-based learning. “Education is most effective when rooted in the community,” she noted. “Our model empowers franchise owners who understand local needs and are trusted voices in their neighborhoods, ensuring that learning is meaningful, engaging, and inspiring.”
COMPUCHILD continues to look for local franchise partners interested in expanding access to hands-on, future-focused education.
