Aveeno and TOGETHXR Celebrate the Strength of Women in Sport and Self-Care

A new campaign by Aveeno and TOGETHXR brings together iconic female athletes to redefine strength, resilience, and skin health

SUMMIT, N.J., March 3, 2026 — Aveeno has partnered with TOGETHXR to launch a powerful new initiative that celebrates the many dimensions of women’s strength—both on and off the field. The collaboration introduces The Strength Issue, a storytelling platform that highlights the journeys, resilience, and personal rituals of some of the world’s most inspiring female athletes.

At the heart of the campaign are four remarkable women whose stories reflect courage, perseverance, and transformation: ballet icon Misty Copeland, basketball star Cameron Brink, professional soccer champion Sophia Wilson, and swimmer and advocate Ali Truwit. Through portraits, personal reflections, and feature articles, the project explores how strength manifests in different ways—from physical endurance and athletic excellence to healing, recovery, and self-confidence.

The initiative is designed to challenge conventional ideas of what strength looks like. For decades, Aveeno has built its reputation on promoting healthy, resilient skin through science-backed formulations and natural ingredients. TOGETHXR, meanwhile, has emerged as a dynamic platform dedicated to elevating the stories of female athletes and transforming how women’s sports are represented in media. Together, the two brands have created a platform where athletes can share their authentic experiences and reshape cultural narratives around women’s strength.

The digital project brings together art, storytelling, and sport. The Strength Issue features a curated collection of portraits photographed by acclaimed photographer Kanya Iwana, alongside editorial pieces written by award-winning journalist MJ Acosta and cultural commentator and podcast host Hunter Harris. Through these stories, the athletes reveal the personal routines and resilience practices that help them navigate both professional and personal challenges.

Each athlete featured in the campaign represents a different expression of strength. Misty Copeland, celebrated as the first Black principal dancer in the 75-year history of one of the world’s most prestigious ballet companies, reflects on how she has helped redefine power and representation within the classical ballet world. Now entering a new chapter of her career, Copeland speaks about shaping her own narrative and continuing to challenge long-standing perceptions in the arts.

Cameron Brink, a national basketball champion and top professional draft pick, shares her perspective on balancing femininity and competitive intensity. As she prepares for a highly anticipated return to the basketball court, Brink challenges outdated assumptions that women must choose between strength and grace.

Ali Truwit’s story offers another powerful dimension of resilience. A world-class swimmer and shark attack survivor, Truwit lost part of her leg but returned to elite competition, earning two silver medals while becoming a passionate advocate for visibility and representation in para-sports. Her journey demonstrates the extraordinary emotional and physical strength required to rebuild life after trauma.

Meanwhile, Sophia Wilson, an Olympic gold medalist and professional soccer star, shares her experience of choosing motherhood at the age of 25 while continuing her athletic career. Rather than focusing on what motherhood might take away from her professional ambitions, Wilson reframes the conversation to explore what it can add—strength, perspective, and purpose.

Together, these stories create a collective portrait of modern female strength—one that includes perseverance, vulnerability, healing, and self-care.

“At Aveeno, we believe women express strength in countless ways, from pushing boundaries and challenging expectations to embracing the quieter work of recovery and repair,” said Kirsten Hurley, Head of Commercial for U.S. Aveeno. She explained that the collaboration with TOGETHXR reflects the brand’s mission to support women who embody resilience in their everyday lives. According to Hurley, when women feel supported and comfortable in their own skin, they gain the confidence to pursue their ambitions and overcome challenges.

Kati Fernandez, Chief Content Officer at TOGETHXR, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the cultural significance of telling women’s stories authentically. She noted that women’s sports are experiencing a powerful shift in visibility and influence, and initiatives like The Strength Issue help accelerate that momentum.

“At TOGETHXR, we’re committed to championing equality and representation in sports and culture,” Fernandez said. “Women’s strength is reshaping the narrative in real time, and this collaboration celebrates every woman who has shown up, put in the work, and proven her resilience.”

The campaign also highlights the connection between confidence and skin health. Research suggests that many consumers avoid ointments due to their heavy or sticky textures, a challenge Aveeno aims to address through innovations such as its Skin Relief Healing Ointment and Lotion. Powered by the restorative properties of oat, these products are designed to deliver soothing hydration while helping restore the skin’s natural barrier—without leaving a greasy residue.

For Aveeno, the message is simple yet powerful: strength begins with feeling comfortable in the skin you’re in. When the body is supported and cared for, confidence and resilience naturally follow.

As women’s sports continue to gain global attention and cultural influence, collaborations like this one reflect a broader movement toward celebrating the full spectrum of female achievement. By combining storytelling, sport, and skincare science, Aveeno and TOGETHXR are inviting audiences to reconsider what strength truly means—and to recognize it in all its forms.
