Hong Kong is preparing for one of its busiest and most exciting tourism seasons in recent years, combining world class entertainment, cultural celebrations, family attractions and generous visitor rewards under its new Hong Kong Summer Fun campaign. Running throughout the summer, the initiative transforms the city into a vibrant destination where visitors can enjoy everything from dragon boat races and football showdowns to immersive exhibitions, theme park celebrations and exclusive travel deals.

The campaign reflects Hong Kong’s continued efforts to strengthen its position as Asia’s leading events destination while encouraging international travellers to extend their stay through attractive savings on attractions, shopping, transport and dining.

One of the biggest highlights is the extensive Summer Deals programme, available until August 31. The citywide initiative offers discounts and rewards throughout every stage of a visitor’s journey, allowing travellers to save on accommodation, transport, entertainment and retail experiences while exploring the city.

In collaboration with Trip.com Group, the Hong Kong Tourism Board has introduced promotional offers worth more than HK$20 million across 19 attractions and three transport operators. Travellers booking participating Hong Kong hotels for stays between July 1 and September 14, with a minimum spend of HK$1,500, can unlock a Summer Getaway Pack that includes attraction and transport discounts of up to 50 percent.

Among the featured experiences are discounted roundtrip tickets for the iconic Ngong Ping 360 cable car, reduced fares on Big Bus Tours and special food and guided tour packages at the Sha Tin and Happy Valley racecourses operated by The Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Visitors can continue collecting rewards throughout their stay. Between July 1 and August 31, international travellers using AlipayHK, Alipay or Alipay+ can scan QR codes at nearly 100 participating shopping malls to receive random spending rewards worth up to HK$500 or RMB500.

Leading shopping destinations including Central Market, Festival Walk, K11, Mira Place, New Town Plaza, Olympian City, Peak Galleria, Times Square and several others are participating. More than 150 merchant promotions are also available, ranging from discounted dining experiences and retail offers to buy one get one free promotions.

Food lovers can take advantage of attractive deals, including premium tasting menus, signature restaurant sets and special offers from well known brands such as Kee Wah Bakery, McDonald’s, Men Wah Bing Teng and On Kee. Together, these promotions are designed to make Hong Kong more accessible while encouraging visitors to explore different parts of the city.

The summer calendar is equally impressive.

The Sun Life Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Festival opens the season with one of the city’s most iconic sporting celebrations. Taking place from June 19 to July 1 along the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, the festival marks the 50th anniversary of the renowned dragon boat races. More than 220 teams representing 16 countries and regions will compete across Victoria Harbour while visitors enjoy food markets, cultural workshops, heritage experiences and interactive displays along the Avenue of Stars.

Families visiting Hong Kong Disneyland Resort can experience the park’s first ever Pixar Summer Fest. The celebration introduces the new Pixar Pals Spectacular, featuring illuminated drones, fountains, castle projections and beloved Pixar characters. Returning attractions, themed entertainment, exclusive merchandise and Pixar inspired hotel experiences promise an unforgettable holiday for guests of all ages.

At Ocean Park Hong Kong, the spotlight shifts to its beloved giant panda family. The Pandastic Summer Birthday Celebration honours the birthdays of the park’s famous pandas with themed installations, interactive zones and family activities that add another layer of excitement to the city’s seasonal attractions.

Art and design enthusiasts can explore Design Ah! Experience the Wonder of Everyday Design at M+, where interactive exhibits reveal how thoughtful design influences everyday life through immersive installations and hands on experiences suitable for visitors of all ages.

Adding another new attraction, Bubble Planet Hong Kong makes its local debut at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal. The immersive exhibition combines digital art, optical illusions, virtual reality and multi sensory installations to create a playful experience for children and adults alike.

Football fans also have plenty to anticipate. The Hong Kong Football Festival 2026, scheduled between July 31 and August 5 at Kai Tak Stadium, will welcome European football giants Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus and FC Internazionale Milano. The tournament will feature two major fixtures alongside open training sessions, reinforcing Hong Kong’s growing reputation as one of Asia’s premier destinations for international sporting events.

Through its combination of cultural celebrations, family entertainment, global sporting events and generous visitor rewards, Hong Kong is positioning itself as one of the region’s most attractive summer travel destinations. For travellers seeking memorable experiences alongside exceptional value, the city promises a season where every visit offers something new to discover.
