DUBAI, UAE – Hikvision Digital Technology has been honored with the inaugural DMCC Global Enterprise ESG Leader Award, recognizing the company’s strong commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and its continued efforts to integrate sustainability into global operations. The recognition highlights Hikvision’s responsible growth strategy and its expanding contributions to sustainable development, particularly in the Middle East.
The award was presented by the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), one of the world’s leading international business districts and free zones. Home to more than 26,000 companies, DMCC has been consistently ranked the No.1 Global Free Zone by the Financial Times’ fDi Intelligence. The newly introduced Pioneers of Sustainability Awards were established to recognize DMCC member organizations demonstrating measurable ESG progress while aligning with the United Arab Emirates’ sustainability priorities and international environmental and governance standards.
According to DMCC representatives, Hikvision’s selection reflects the company’s ability to embed sustainability into its innovation strategy and operational framework.
“As a global AIoT leader, Hikvision has successfully integrated sustainability into the core of its business, driven by continuous innovation,” said Evgeny Garanin, Associate Director for Corporate Sustainability at DMCC. “This award recognizes their commitment to creating lasting value for customers, advancing social well-being, and fulfilling their global responsibilities.”
Sustainability Driven by AIoT Innovation
Hikvision’s ESG initiatives are structured around three major pillars evaluated by the DMCC awards: green development, social responsibility, and transparent governance.
Environmental sustainability plays a central role in the company’s product development and manufacturing processes. Hikvision has implemented a number of measures designed to reduce energy consumption, lower carbon emissions, and improve resource efficiency across the entire product lifecycle—from research and development to manufacturing and deployment.
One notable milestone occurred in September 2025, when the company’s WonderHub interactive display became the first large-format display in the world to receive TCO Certified Generation 10, a global sustainability certification. The achievement reflects the company’s efforts to design energy-efficient devices and low-carbon technology solutions while meeting strict environmental performance standards.
By integrating artificial intelligence and Internet-of-Things technologies into sustainable systems—often referred to as AIoT—Hikvision aims to deliver solutions that not only enhance operational efficiency but also support environmental goals. These innovations help organizations optimize energy use, improve resource management, and adopt smarter infrastructure systems.
Technology Supporting Social Good
Beyond environmental initiatives, Hikvision has also focused on expanding the social impact of its technology. Guided by its “Tech for Good” philosophy, the company works with nonprofit organizations and public institutions to support projects related to environmental protection, cultural preservation, and community welfare.
A key initiative is the company’s STAR Program for Social Good, a global partnership program that enables nonprofit organizations to use AIoT technology to safeguard natural habitats and historical sites. Through the program, Hikvision has collaborated with more than 30 nonprofit organizations across 14 countries and regions, helping protect wildlife reserves, heritage locations, and cultural landmarks through intelligent monitoring systems.
The company has also invested in localized community initiatives in the Middle East. One example is its Ramadan care campaign in Dubai, which has been organized for three consecutive years. The program provides essential food support and assistance to frontline workers during the holy month of Ramadan, reflecting Hikvision’s commitment to supporting communities in the regions where it operates.
Strengthening Governance and Transparency
Strong governance and ethical practices form the third pillar of Hikvision’s ESG strategy. The company emphasizes compliance, accountability, and transparency across all areas of its operations, including cybersecurity, data privacy, and human rights protections.
In December 2025, Hikvision received ISO 37301 certification for its compliance management system, a globally recognized standard that demonstrates an organization’s ability to establish effective compliance frameworks and maintain ethical business practices. The certification further reinforces the company’s focus on building trust with customers, partners, and regulatory bodies worldwide.
These governance measures extend throughout the entire business lifecycle—from research and product design to manufacturing, distribution, and operational management—ensuring that sustainability and integrity remain integrated into everyday decision-making.
A Continuing Commitment to Responsible Growth
The DMCC Global Enterprise ESG Leader Award marks another milestone in Hikvision’s broader sustainability journey. The company has increasingly aligned its corporate practices with international frameworks, including the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Ten Principles, which it formally adopted in 2024.
Through these initiatives, Hikvision aims to demonstrate that technological innovation and sustainability can progress together. By combining AI-driven solutions with responsible governance and community engagement, the company seeks to contribute to long-term global development goals while supporting safer, more efficient, and environmentally responsible infrastructure.
Looking ahead, Hikvision plans to further expand its sustainability initiatives and integrate ESG considerations into future technology innovations. The company maintains that every advancement in its AIoT ecosystem should not only deliver operational benefits but also contribute to a more sustainable and socially responsible future.
With recognition from DMCC’s new sustainability awards program, Hikvision’s approach highlights the growing importance of ESG leadership in the global technology sector and underscores the role companies play in shaping sustainable economic growth.
