UncannyCS Brings Smarter Food Traceability to Odoo Experience 2026

As Europe’s food and beverage industry faces growing demands for transparency, compliance and operational efficiency, digital traceability is becoming a strategic priority. At Odoo Experience 2026, Uncanny Consulting Services LLP, known as UncannyCS, will showcase how integrated ERP systems can help food manufacturers, beverage companies and distributors build clearer, more connected product records.

The company will be present at Booth E1 at Brussels Expo from September 24 to 26, with six specialists available throughout the three day event to discuss batch tracking, expiry management, quality controls and connected Odoo operations.

The need is significant. According to FoodDrinkEurope data cited by the company, the European Union’s food and drink industry generated €1.523 trillion in turnover and employed approximately 4.8 million people. Meanwhile, EU General Food Law requires businesses to maintain traceability across food production, processing and distribution.

For manufacturers, however, maintaining reliable traceability can become complicated when purchasing, production, warehousing, quality and distribution teams operate through disconnected records.

A supplier lot may be recorded during purchasing, while production creates a separate batch reference. Quality inspections may remain outside the core system, and expiry information may not always influence inventory decisions. When ingredients are combined, products reworked or stock transferred between facilities, identifying affected batches and customers can become a time consuming exercise.

UncannyCS approaches the challenge by mapping the complete movement of ingredients and products, from purchasing and receipt through production, quality checks, storage and dispatch. The company then identifies gaps and determines where Odoo can connect previously fragmented information.

Solutions can include linking supplier lots to purchase receipts, recording ingredients consumed during production, connecting finished batches with deliveries, configuring expiry alerts and First Expired, First Out inventory rules, and introducing quality checks across critical stages.

The approach also extends beyond traceability. Depending on operational requirements, UncannyCS can integrate Odoo with websites, warehouses, logistics providers and other business systems while developing reports that provide greater visibility into inventory, batches and deliveries.

Food waste adds another dimension to the challenge. Eurostat reported that the EU generated 58.2 million tonnes of food waste in 2023, with food processing and manufacturing accounting for nearly 11 million tonnes. While traceability systems cannot address every source of waste, better visibility over expiry dates, production quantities and stock movement can support more informed operational decisions.

UncannyCS also points to its work with NAH Foods, a UK based food manufacturer and distributor, where the company addressed fragmented procurement, inventory and production processes. The project included centralized purchasing, batch and expiry aware inventory, production planning, recipes, bills of materials, lot tracking and customized reporting.

The company stresses that technology itself does not make a business legally compliant. Rather, an appropriately configured ERP can provide the records, controls and visibility needed to support established food safety and compliance procedures.

At Odoo Experience, UncannyCS says discussions will begin with business processes rather than software features. Visitors can explore whether Odoo is appropriate for their operations, whether an existing implementation requires correction, or whether integration with another system would be more effective than replacement.

The company expects its specialists to address issues including ingredient traceability, recall preparation, expiry control, multi warehouse inventory, production management, quality records, migration and third party integrations.

For European food and beverage businesses, the broader message is clear: traceability is no longer simply a compliance exercise. As supply chains become more complex and operational data increasingly determines how quickly companies respond to quality concerns, recalls and inventory pressures, connected information is becoming an important competitive capability.
