OEG, a leading global provider of energy logistics and offshore solutions, has announced the acquisition of Trinity Rental Services (TRS) and its affiliated businesses. The acquisition significantly enhances OEG’s U.S. capabilities, doubles its regional fleet, and adds a new dimension of inspection services to its growing portfolio.
Headquartered in Lafayette, Louisiana, Trinity Rental Services has carved out a strong position in offshore container rentals across the Gulf of Mexico since its founding in 2013. With a fleet of DNV and SEPCO-certified units, TRS also provides mechanical integrity and fabric maintenance services, supporting offshore asset safety and compliance.
With this acquisition, OEG gains:
This marks the first major acquisition by OEG after its own acquisition by Apollo, in a deal valued at over $1 billion.
“This important acquisition strengthens our footprint in the U.S. and underscores our belief that our specialist oil and gas services will remain strong for decades to come,” said John Heiton, CEO of OEG. “It adds talent, fleet capability, and assets further building our offering in a robust, long-term market.”
Heiton added that the integration brings meaningful synergies, especially after OEG recently secured a major cargo logistics contract with a global operator in North America.
Garett Gauthier, OEG’s Regional Director for the Americas, shared: “This is a strategic fit. TRS brings deep relationships, a high-quality fleet, and a shared dedication to customer service and innovation. Our combined capabilities will significantly enhance the customer experience across the region.”
“Our companies were built on relationships and responsiveness,” said Jonathan Foreman, Owner of Trinity Rental Services. “This partnership honors our Louisiana roots and opens up new global opportunities for our team. We’re proud of what we’ve built—and excited for the next chapter with OEG.”
Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Aberdeen, OEG delivers critical infrastructure, technology, and logistics services across the energy value chain—from offshore equipment rentals to full-service project solutions in oil, gas, and wind energy. With operations in 65+ countries and 1,500 employees, OEG is a key player in global energy transition strategies.
