Fukuoka City Unveils Full Program for “Colive Fukuoka 2025”

Ten-day initiative highlights solopreneurs, AI-driven startups, and cultural immersion

FUKUOKA, JAPAN — September 5, 2025 — Fukuoka City, in collaboration with yugyo Inc., today announced the complete program for Colive Fukuoka 2025, a ten-day coliving and community experience designed to spotlight the rise of solopreneurs in the AI era. The event will run from October 1–10, 2025, blending entrepreneurial insights with Japanese cultural values and global networking opportunities.

Solopreneurs in the AI Era

With remote work and artificial intelligence reshaping business models, a new type of entrepreneur is emerging: the solopreneur. Enabled by AI tools, individuals can now launch ventures with the potential to scale globally. Recent examples include student-led startups built in under two hours and micro-teams acquired for millions.

“Once, scale meant headcount. Today, it’s about the agility of small, AI-powered teams,” noted organizers, pointing to research from The Economist and Harvard’s generative AI practicums.

Why Fukuoka?

Since 2012, Fukuoka City has prioritized startups as part of its growth agenda. It became Japan’s first city to issue a “Startup Visa” in 2019 and continues to position itself as “Asia’s Gateway City.” Beyond infrastructure, Fukuoka offers an environment solopreneurs value: accessibility, natural beauty, global connectivity, and a welcoming community.

Program Highlights

  • Colive Fukuoka Summit (Oct 1–3): Keynotes include “Future Perspectives from Buddhism” by Jukkai Nishiyama, a talk on Ikigai by elderly entrepreneurs, and a session on women’s empowerment led by Ikumi Yoshimatsu, Miss International winner.
