ALTAVE Brought AI-Powered Operational Intelligence to ONS 2026

As offshore energy operators faced growing pressure to improve safety, efficiency and situational awareness, artificial intelligence was moving beyond experimentation and into everyday industrial operations. At ONS 2026 in Stavanger, Brazil-based technology company ALTAVE showcased how computer vision could transform existing video infrastructure into a continuous source of operational intelligence for high-risk environments.

At the heart of ALTAVE’s offering was its HARPIA platform, which combined computer vision and artificial intelligence to continuously analyse video feeds from industrial environments where conventional monitoring could be challenging.

Rather than treating cameras simply as recording devices, the platform turned visual information into structured operational data. It could identify situations including personal protective equipment non-compliance, unauthorised access to restricted or hazardous zones and irregular activity around suspended loads. This distinction was increasingly important for industrial organisations. Cameras were already installed across many offshore platforms, vessels and facilities, but extracting actionable information from those feeds traditionally required significant human attention. Every detected event could be converted into structured, time-stamped data. HSE and operations teams could then use dashboards and automated reports to examine exposure time, recurring non-conformities and periods when risk levels were elevated.

The result was a shift from isolated observations towards a more comprehensive picture of operational behaviour.
